DRACO

The faint stars of Draco the Dragon wind through the picture. Toward the upper right edge is Vega in Lyra. Just down and to the left of Vega toward the center of the picture is the Dragon's head, dominated by Eltanin, or Gamma Draconis, fainter Rastaban (Beta Draconis) immediately to the left. Thuban, in Draco's tail, was once the pole star. The "Keystone" of Hercules is to the top and the bowl stars of the Little Dipper in Ursa Minor are to the bottom. Draco's tail continues off the picture to the west. Two stars are "Al Dhibain"; Eta is Al Dhibain Prior, Zeta Al Dhibain Posterior. Draco also has a star with an orbiting planet (or brown dwarf). Draco contains the North Ecliptic Pole, the northern perpendicular to the Ecliptic (the apparant solar path, which defines the Zodiac). The South Ecliptic Pole is in Dorado. Draco has a star with an orbiting planet.
