ASTRONOMY UPDATES
Since 1989, I have given lectures on "what's new in
astronomy," Astronomy Updates, to the annual conference of
the Great Lakes Planetarium
Association. The texts of these talks, published in the
Conference Proceedings, are linked below, beginning with the update
for 1989 and ending with the last available, that for 2006. Each
update gives the highlights of astronomical research for the year
preceeding the time of the meeting. Together, they give a short
history of discovery over the past 15 years. Thanks to Dale Smith
for scanning the updates for 1989 through 1994.
