Explore the Universe with Professor James KalerLet Astronomy Professor James B. Kaler be your guide to the heavens this month in a planetarium show at Parkland College's William M. Staerkel Planetarium.
The program, entitled "The
StarGazer", is based on Professor Kaler and his teaching of
astronomy. Kaler also co-narrates the show with Nichelle Nichols
(Lt. Uhura) of the original "Star Trek". Written and produced by the
Great Lakes Planetarium
Association and the Minneapolis
Planetarium, this presentation gives a personal look into one
man's love for astronomy. It also explains the science of gravity,
light, and the spectrum and how they help us decipher the life cycles
of the stars. "The StarGazer" will be featured on Fridays and
Saturdays at 8pm through November 23rd. The show is being distributed
internationally through Staerkel Planetarium. For more information, call the planetarium's Showline at 351-2446.
